Due to a vehicle breakdown and driver illness some adjustments were made to our Tuesday “B” Route schedules.

The following B libraries will not recieve service today but will recieve service tomorrow.

B121 B169 B224 and B35.. Also some New London County libraries will not recieve service today. At this time I do not know which ones are effected.  Every B library should be back on schedule tomorrow 1/25/12.

I wanted to let you all know that I will be retiring from the State Library on January 31st. I have enjoyed working with all of you over the years. Thank you all for your graciousness despite service interruptions, new procedures, surveys, and too much tape and too many staples. I know I’m working with a polite group of people when someone apologies about telling me they didn’t get delivery for 3 days! Ccar has been a priority for the State Library since the 1970’s and will continue to be so. I know that you all share the priority of getting over 3 million books a year into the hands of eager patrons.

I wanted to let you know that you will be in good hands when I retire. Here is a list of contacts for Ccar. I’ll put this on the website as well but maybe you’ll want to print it out and post it somewhere for all to see.

 If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to update your reQuest ILL Holiday list.

Dates you enter into your Holiday list will not count as ILL referral days, i.e. they will not count as a day that you process ILL lending requests. You can access your Holiday list through the ‘Maintain Participant Record’ link on your ILL Admin page.

We realize that trying to schedule 2 or more days away from the library is difficult, so we have changed the date of the combined ILL round-table to the next week, Thursday May 17th at the Middletown Library Service Center.

Please note these dates on your calendars! We hope you can make the time to get to both meetings. As you may have heard through the grapevine- we’re a fun group! (Is that an oxymoron- librarians as a fun group? I thought that only the Children’s Librarians could claim that distinction?!)

Just a reminder that next Thursday 11/24/11 is Thanksgiving and The Friday after 11/25/11 most of the C-Car B Library staff will be out. However the A library schedule will be operating as normal on 11/25/11.. If your library is closed on Friday 11/25/11 please advise your driver or call or email me or Avant Services.
As a result of this event we will be adjusting our schedules next week as to be sure every library is serviced.
Please expect service on any day next week as there are too many changes to list.
