C-Car Packaging Grumble

From Carol Kubala at Saxton B. Little Library in Columbia:

On July 7th, 2010, I received this c-car return. There were other books on top of these.

As you can see from the photo, one of the books is very curled, the one beneath not much better. There are probably two reasons for this. The returns that are damaged are oversized paperbacks, 2 banded together and not stabilized in any way. Also, they were thrown into the delivery tub at an odd angle, not stacked one on top of the other.

I am certain no one intended the outcome of these books. We are all very busy with an overload of ILL and c-car returns. A bit of extra care will go a long way in assuring our books remain in desirable condition.

Thanks for listening.
