Sad News-New Haven Public Library Discontinuing ILL

A message from Steve Cauffman at ICONN reQuest-

I received this from a staff member at New Haven Free Public Library:

“Unfortunately, due to staff reductions the New Haven Free Public Library is unable to continue Interlibrary Loan services.  We apologize for the inconvenience to our patrons as well as our member libraries.  We appreciate your understanding and regret the discontinuation of this very valuable service.”

I set reQuest so that any lending requests sent to NHP will be deflected to the next library in the lender list. I will be removing them from the systemwide lender list shortly. I also set it so that “ILL Lender” does not appear next to their name in the reQuest catalog.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear this. New Haven Free Public has been a generous lender to our library over the years. Even though we may not be able to borrow from New Haven, our ILL lending doors are open to New Haven if they see the need.

    It is a sad day!
